Our Vision and Values

Word
We believe that God’s Word is living and active (Hebrews 4:12), and that God works through His Word and Spirit to cause us to be born again (James 1:18) draw us closer to Jesus (Luke 24:44-45) and to root and ground us in love for Him and others (Ephesians 3:16-19)
Prayer
We believe that God answers prayer, and that prayer is an acknowledgement of our dependence and need for God to work in our lives (Ephesians 1:16-19) and in the world around us (Matthew 6:10).
Service
We believe that the Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection frees us from self-centered living so that we can live lives of loving, sacrificial service toward our neighbor (Mark 10:45).  We are able to love sacrificially because God first loved us (Romans 5:8, 1 John 4:11-12).
Community
We believe that God has called his people to follow Jesus together (1 Thessalonians 2:8).  Only in biblical community can we live out the other three values on this list (Colossians 3:16, James 5:16, 1 John 3:16), and the Bible warns against failing to meet regularly (Hebrews 10:24-25).

A place for students

Avenue Students (7th–12th grade) is a place for students to own their faith, live out their faith and lead others. Leading students to develop a faith of their own in Jesus Christ is the goal of our ministry. Our hope is to partner with parents in helping students go deeper with each other, their leaders and, most importantly, God.

Intersect

Intersect is the weekly gathering for our students during the school year (August-May).

The purpose of InterSect is twofold:
1. Intersect is a place where the lives of students can InterSect with a life-changing God.
2. InterSect is a place where students’ lives InterSect with one another in community.

We accomplish these purposes through a variety of ways, including interactive activities, personal testimonies, bible studies, prayer, and more. Note: during the Summer months, Summer Wednesday takes the place of InterSect on Wednesday nights.
